About Lisa Marie

I am a…

Artist, Brainstormer, Change Agent, Connector, Designer, Entrepreneur, Event planner, Explorer, Idea generator, Marketer, Photographer, Producer, Project manager, Writer/Editor

Bio

For more than 30 years, Lisa has filled diverse creative and marketing roles in various sectors, including healthcare, nonprofit, and manufacturing. Her career has spanned design, creative direction, brand and process management, photography, writing, copy editing, social media, website planning, Mac network admin, and fundraising. Grateful to have received many awards and honors, she keeps them nestled in a treasure box next to last decade's epiphanies. A volunteer with TEDxGreenville for 7 years beginning in 2011, she earned curatorship for the 2014 and 2015 conferences, a role that allowed her to co-lead the organization. After that time, she served on the organization's strategic team and helped fill other roles as needs arose. From 2016 to early 2019, she researched, presented, and justified a TEDx initiative for her employer, attending TEDFest in 2017. In 2020, Lisa is eager to support the TEDx movement in Greenville as licensee for a second organization in town—TEDxHeritageGreen.

The TED story

I was so energized by attending my first TEDxGreenville event in 2011 that I raised my hand to volunteer for the 2012 event team. I've been hooked ever since -- you just can't beat the energy and camaraderie among a gang o'go-getters pursuing a mission to innovate and inspire. I helped out with the program, interactive, and marketing teams; worked up to a leadership role — curator/co-organizer — for the 2014 and 2015 annual conferences; and served on the strategic team from 2016 to 2018. Now I'm licensee for TEDxHeritageGreen, a second TEDx organization in our city with a mission to support, elevate, and widen our region's TEDx movement. Think of us as TEDxGreenville's rambunctious little sister!
