Bio
I am Megha Goel, leading a passionate team of students of the first year of the business school. Besides being a graduate of the University of Delhi, I am an artist at heart. My art and especially Classical dance that I have been learning for 15 years, drives me to explore life beyond the monotonous routine and thus continuously teaches me to connect meaningfully with people around me. My spirit of exploration and eagerness to discover is also derived from my passion to travel. So far, I have traveled to 2 continents, 5
countries, and more than 25 places in and outside India. It drives the hunger in me for always wanting to go a mile further to discover something undiscovered. Being a student of Business Finance also helps me keep a tab on the practical aspects of events, the essence of time, and the value of money.
The TED story
Having been personally inspired by TED talks for the last few years, I was hoping that the institute that I join for management education would have a TEDx event that I can witness live. However, upon joining GIM, which is among one of the top-rated institutes for management education in India, I discerned it doesn’t have a TEDx event of its own. I enquired with one of my faculty members and learned that attempts were made in the past but had not materialized. I saw this as an opportunity to test my management skills to make realize something that I so strongly believed in. After discussing with a few classmates and students from other courses as well, we felt we must give this a try as we could be the batch that starts this meaningful conversation on our campus that can change lives of students, faculty and the world at large when we step out of the institute. Inspired by this thought, I would like to organize TEDxGIM to the best of our abilities and create a platform for ‘ideas worth spreading’ that are bubbling in our local community around the institute and also in the neighboring states of India.
