I am a very successful professional in the male dominated professional services industry. I have worked hard all my life, have a happy family life and never really understood why so many females struggle in their professional life with themes like work/life balance, glass ceilings etc. In Spring 2019, I was invited to join a business trip together with 34 other successful female business professionals. The trip went to Silicon Valley and focused on female entrepreneurship, inclusion and diversity. This life changing trip made me experience the complexity of diversity and female inclusion. The trip has given me so many insights in how females are different from men, why it is so difficult for many females to become equally successful as our male counterparts and which steps we can take to break through all these barriers. This trip has changed my life in a very positive way and increased my sense of inclusion in work and personal life enormously.
