Bio

I am the Executive Producer of Documentaries and Development for WNET/Thirteen. I oversee documentary limited series, occasional single documentaries as well as develop new programming ideas. I am involved in fundraising, overseeing production and, post-production, delivery and distribution, and coordinating broadcast and non-broadcast aspects of productions. Prior to accepting this position, I was a producer for HBO Documentary Films where I concurrently oversaw all aspects of production including, budgets, schedules, crew hiring and management, and post production, on two documentary films slated for 2012 broadcast. Last year I was nominated for a 2012 Academy Award ™ for my short documentary film, “God is the Bigger Elvis.†Previously, I was a Programming Executive for HBO Documentary Films where I supervised the development, production and promotion of more than 30 original documentary film projects during a 5 year tenure and was responsible for identifying new film series projects for development, securing funding and acquiring films to ensure a steady influx of high-quality programming for the cable network. Prior to my work at HBO, I created, Executive Producer, CNN’s iReport Film Festival, CNN's first online film festival. I was also Co-creator, Executive Producer for ESPN’s 60-minute magazine series, E:60 and a Creator, Executive Producer for BET’s 60-minute talk show, Meet the Faith. I started my career in sports and was a producer and director for HBO Sports and as an Executive Producer at ESPN, covering five Olympic and endless sports events. I have been lucky to receive numerous honors for creative achievement including four Emmy Awards and two Peabody Awards. I sit on the board of the National Economic & Social Rights Initiative (NESRI) and am a member of New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT), and the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS).
