Bio

I'm currently a senior at Lakeville South High School, and I value taking innovative approaches to spreading education in my community. Whether I'm pioneering a tutoring program or hosting a TEDx event, I've had considerable excitement in seeing my solutions spring into action. Outside of these initiatives, I dedicate much of my spare time to activities such as Model United Nations, Extemporaneous Speaking, and Lincoln-Douglas Debate, being nationally ranked in the latter two. As a student, I particularly enjoy classes focused on economics, finance, and history. With those interests in mind, I plan on furthering my education in the fields of economics and international relations, with a special focus on developing nations. In the mean time, however, I'll be hosting TEDxLakeville, where I hope to see other like-minded members of my community gather for an insightful night dedicated to the future of Politics, Education, and Technology!

I'm passionate about

Spreading the gift of knowledge.

An idea worth spreading

While reading a book called "Mindset," I learned of an important principle that, in context, makes perfect sense: students who fail to achieve oftentimes do so not because of a lack of motivation or intelligence, but purely due to the fear of failing. It's become engrained in the minds of millions of young people the world over that a "do-nothing" behavior is preferable to "trying and failing"—the only failure being students' inability to create progress with a mindset that fears change. More to come on all of this later, I haven't finished reading the book… :-)

The TED story

Since my freshman year, I've watched TED Talks for inspirational new approaches to traditional situations, gaining new insights that I've carried through with everyday dilemmas.
