Bio
Azita Ardakani is a serial entrepreneur, social activist and human centred communication expert. Ardakani received her bachelors degree in Sociology at Simon Fraser University in British Colombia. Ardakani left Iran at the age of 3, at the tail end of the war between Iran and Iraq. She was therefore always impassioned to be of service to those that do not have access to the same opportunities she was gifted by being able to immigrate to Canada.
Her background in Sociology informed the human fabric and templates that communities and individuals behave through. She began to consult with the United Nations on the digital media strategy for a global clean water crisis campaign in 2009, which grew to be one of the most successful online cause campaigns. From there she formed lovesocial.org an award winning boutique digital agency with multiple focuses. All seen through the lens of the complex human driver and organizational community patterns, Ardakani developed strategies, concepts and campaigns for NPR, Nature Conservancy, Nike, Oprah Magazine, Tribeca Film Festival, United Nations, and many other organizations. Notably, Ardakani led campaigns causing moratoriums in hydraulic fracturing, and freeing political prisoners through her campaign called Unlock Iran with the Iran Human Rights Documentation Centre.
Her work at Lovesocial set a new blueprint for human driven communication which allows subconscious behavioural drivers to be included in strategic development - this was turned into the Grain of Truth process which has now been facilitated world wide: www.lovesocial.org/grainoftruth - Ardakani was named Forbes 30 under 30, NY Business Journal’s Women to Note, WSJ Women to Note, amongst other recognitions. www.lovesocial.org/press
In 2016, Ardakani went on to launch Honeycomb Portfolio (www.honeycombportfolio.com) an early stage experimental investment vehicle testing the thesis, “if nature were to make investments, what would that look like?”
Driven by the biological reminder that the human species is a fraction of the 3.8 billion years of the planets development, she is looking to bridge our entrepreneurial, and social and emotional considerations to be inclusive of natures intelligence with the field of biomimcry.
I'm passionate about
Embodied social movements and organizations.
An idea worth spreading
Our inspiration when conceiving and birthing Honeycomb was to create a space and deliberate means of bridging the impulses of our 300,000 year old human species to the reflection of over 4 billion years of intelligence that we live in context (and contrast) to.
One reason to do this felt clear: it is a lonely human journey to believe the myth that the burden of a vision is on your shoulders alone. As Alan Watts says:
“We do not "come into" this world; we come out of it, as leaves from a tree. As the ocean "waves," the universe "peoples." Every individual is an expression of the whole realm of nature, a unique action of the total universe.”
Perhaps our human intelligence would be bolstered and super powered in ways we have yet to explore if we integrate the lessons of nature into our daily practice and the fabric of our organizations.
