Bio

Andrés Ruzo is a Peruvian geothermal scientist, conservationist, educator, and science communicator. In 2011, he became the fist geoscientist granted the shamanic blessing to study the sacred Boiling River of the Amazon, & was tasked with bringing it to the world responsibly. He is the Founder & Director of the Boiling River Project— a nonprofit dedicated to understanding, protecting, and bring value to this Boiling River by mixing modern science with traditional Amazonian knowledge., Andrés is a National Geographic Explorer and TV show host of NatGeo LatAm’s “Misterios del Inframundo.” He is a TED MainStage Speaker, TED BookAuthor, and has served as a TED Speaker Mentor and Ambassador.
