Artist Alexa Meade invented a new type of optical illusion by painting on three-dimensional spaces and live models to create the feeling that our reality is a two-dimensional work of art. Alexa's groundbreaking work has been exhibited around the world at the Grand Palais in Paris, Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo, and the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC. She has created large scale installations at Art Basel, Coachella, and Cannes. Her solo exhibition on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills was attended by forty-thousand people. Alexa painted pop star Ariana Grande for her iconic “God is a Woman” music video, which has over 300 million views. Alexa accepted an invitation to the White House under President Obama and has been honored with the "Disruptive Innovation Award" by the Tribeca Film Festival. She has lectured at TED, Apple, Singularity U, Stanford, Princeton, and Google. While Artist-in-Residence at Google, Alexa collaborated with the team developing plenoptic light field technology. With an interest in quantum physics, Alexa was the first ever Artist-in-Residence at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics and was a panelist at The Symposium on Peace and Security in a Quantum Age. InStyle has named Alexa among their "Badass Women."
