June M. Baldwin, Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate and Legal Affairs June M. Baldwin is Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate and Legal Affairs of KCETLink, a powerful new independent public transmedia company that acquires, produces and distributes provocative global programming targeted to a national audience across multiple media platforms. She joined KCET in March, 2004, and played a critical role in KCET’s merger with Link Media in 2012 to form KCETLink. Ms. Baldwin’s duties involve oversight, identification, and management of all legal issues and business policies for KCETLink. She is responsible for FCC compliance, IP strategy, and labor relations. Along with her team, she prepares and reviews contracts for all areas of company operations, including Original Programming, Acquisitions, Distribution, Digital Media, Development, Production Facilities, Engineering, Information Technology, and Underwriting. She provides legal advice and counsel on all major legal and regulatory matters before the company for the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer, and KCETLink’s executive staff. Ms. Baldwin also heads KCETLink’s Human Resources Department and serves as Assistant Secretary to the KCETLink Board of Directors. Before joining KCET, Ms. Baldwin held Business Affairs positions at NBC, UPN and Columbia TriStar Television. She also served as Head of Business Affairs at independent production companies for Johnny Carson, Norman Lear, Quincy Jones and Aaron Spelling. In a burst of entrepreneurship, she spent a year exploring the world of venture capital funding in a bid to develop a music publishing company and a jazz record label with the legendary CBS music executive, George Butler. Ms. Baldwin is a product of both coasts as well as the Midwest. Born in Philadelphia, she graduated from Stanford University before attending Harvard Law School. Leaving Cambridge, she then clerked for the esteemed jurist Luther Swygert on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago, Illinois. Known to be an agent for social change and determined to make a difference in the world, Ms. Baldwin has served on numerous boards throughout her career including the Hollywood Women's Political Committee, the Hollywood Policy Center, the Academy of Television, Arts & Sciences, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation, the California Women's Law Center, Planned Parenthood, the Archer School for Girls, Women in Film, the Women in Film Foundation, Artists For A New South Africa, The Coalition for At-Risk Youth, and the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association. She is the former Chair of the Academy of Television, Arts & Sciences Foundation Educational, Program and Services Committee. Currently, Ms. Baldwin serves on the Executive Committee of the Corporate Law Department Section of the Los Angeles County Bar. She is also Co-Chair of the 2014 Outstanding Corporate Counsel Award Dinner, a founding Board member and Treasurer of Stop Bullying Foundation, Inc., serves on the Advisory Board of The Minority Health Institute, and is a member of the Image Awards Nominating Committee.
