Moaz Abdullah Mojaddidi, MBChB, PhD Vice dean for Quality deanship. Assistant professor and head of Department of Physiology at the Taibah University School of Medicine in Almadina Almunawwarah, Saudi Arabia & head of e-learning in the school of medicine. I studied medicine at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, then earned doctoral degree from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. My expertise focuses on neuropathy in patients with diabetes mellitus and I contribute to scientific meetings in the field of diabetes and diabetic foot both nationally and internationally. I also train doctors and healthcare professionals in workshops on diabetic neuropathy in the clinical practice. I regularly review papers for the journal Diabetic Medicine, have authored two book chapters on diabetic neuropathy, published papers and review articles in peer-reviewed journals, and has authored many presentations and abstracts presented at international symposia. I am committed to a career in academia in the long term. To achieve this I intend to focus on teaching in the medical school at Taibah University and establish a research unit focusing on neuropathy and diabetic foot research. The remit of this research unit will be to establish: 1- State of the art basic science research and postgraduate programs. 2- Clinical evidence based research that produces recommendations for clinical practice. 3- Establish and document the current situation of the disease impact on the region of al-Madinah Al-Munawarah and rest of Saudi Arabia and advice on services needed to tackle this. 4- Aid in postgraduate clinical teaching and training in the field of diabetic neuropathy and diabetic foot. 5- Apply for research grants to accomplish research projects. 6- Patient education in the field of diabetes and diabetic foot. 7- Clinical diabetic foot clinic in close conjunction with orthopedic, general surgery, a physician and a vascular surgeon.
