Bio

I am the founder of the creative civic engagement organization Democrasexy (making democracy sexy so more people do it). Democrasexy convenes purposeful communities (like The Civic Mystics collective) and produces content and events to demystify Texas politics and infuse joy and optimism into the work of advocating for women, LGBTQIA+ folks, and other marginalized groups (examples: Texorcism, Y’allentines Day, Tex Support, Bi for Now). I infuse mystical practices into my activism and consider myself to be a "civic witch.” If you meet me at the conference, I’ll give you a special election tarot card and a Democrasexy sticker! I've served as an Election Judge, a Precinct Chair, Training Co-Chair of my local Democratic Party, DNC Delegate, and now serve as Vice-Chair on the City of Austin's Commission for Women. I used to co-host The Rabble Texas politics podcast where I interviewed notable folks like A'shanti Gholar, Jess Morales Rocketto, Beto O'Rourke, and Wendy Davis and emceed events for Supermajority, the Texas Civil Rights Project, Texas Democrats, the Texas Observer, and others. My two daughters often tell people, "Our mom likes to wear sequins and help more people vote."
