Bio
Louise O. Fresco's exciting career has involved ten years of field work in tropical countries, a PhD cum laude in tropical agronomy (Wageningen), chairs at prestigious universities, leading positions within the UN. She has always had a strong involvement in international development, agriculture and food. She also published seven books (of which three acclaimed novels). Currently, as a university professor in Amsterdam, she writes a syndicated newspaper column, is an adviser to the Dutch government on socio-economic policy and climate change. She serves as a non executive director of Rabobank. She has been ranked the 4th most influential woman in The Netherlands in 2008 and is involved in a large number of cultural and social activities.
