The TED story

Thomas Dolby heard Gamelan X's song "Spiral Flower" and reached out to Eric Oberthaler. Eric Oberthaler and ADHK are collaborators on "Chorus of Dreams," a 60 minute collaborative performance between Philadelphia dance company ArcheDream for HUMANKIND and Bay Area composer Eric "EO" Oberthaler (Gamelan X, Brass Menazeri). "Chorus of Dreams" was inspired by the 2008 Burning Man theme "the American Dream." The dancers and musicians worked together to create a stunning immersive experience for Black Rock City. Thomas said that he was interested in "Spiral Flower" being performed at a TED 2009 and that he was interested in a theatrical element to accompany the music, so EO reached out to ADHK to co-create the piece.
