I'm passionate about

Harnessing the power of technology and innovation, especially in data management and mobile support. My journey through personal challenges has ignited a deep enthusiasm for growth and overcoming obstacles. I believe strongly in the transformative power of storytelling and sharing experiences to inspire and uplift others. Creating platforms for diverse voices is close to my heart, as is using technology and ideas to drive positive change both professionally and personally. As a technology professional, change agent, and community builder, I'm committed to blending these passions to make a meaningful impact in the world.

An idea worth spreading

In "The Power of Restart", Lisa Craig Taylor explores how the same principle that restores frozen devices can restore clarity, capacity, and connection in our lives. Drawing from her background in technology leadership and lived experience, she reframes burnout, overload, and disconnection through a practical lens. Aligned with the TEDxEnsleyAvenueED theme, Rebuilding Minds. Rebuilding Communities, this talk challenges the idea that starting over is the only path forward. If you’ve ever felt frozen while still showing up, this message will resonate. Watch, reflect, and join the conversation.

The TED story

I was drowning in silence. Then I found my voice. My journey to TEDxAlabaster began in the depths of depression, where I felt myself sinking deeper each day. As a technology manager accustomed to solving complex problems, I found myself unable to debug the most critical system of all – my own life. In those dark moments, I turned to TED and TEDx talks, each video a lifeline pulling me towards the surface. These talks were much more than just presentations; they were beacons of hope, reminding me that even in our lowest moments, we all have a story worth telling and a voice worth hearing. Inspired by the courage of speakers who shared their vulnerabilities and triumphs, I began to see my struggles not as an end, but as the opening chapter of a powerful narrative. This realization sparked a transformation within me. I went from consuming inspiring content to creating it, penning my thoughts and experiences into what would become "My Voice is Dope." Applying for and obtaining approval to organize TEDxAlabaster wasn't just a professional achievement – it was a deeply personal victory. It represented my emergence from the silence of depression into a role where I could magnify not only my voice but the voices of others in my community. TEDxAlabaster is more than an event to me. It's a testament to the power of ideas to heal, inspire, and transform. It's proof that our darkest moments can lead to our brightest opportunities to make a difference.
