By day, I'm a climate action strategist; by night, I organize TEDx events where brilliant humans stand in red circles & occasionally change the world. Jailbird for justice: Got arrested protesting fracking because apparently videoing government buildings is "illegal" 🙄 Charter President of the world's first virtual peace Rotary Club (we plant HEIWA & Zoom intergenerationally!) Almost-Olympian: Competed for the 1988 Calgary Olympics doing quadruple daffies (splits) 75 feet in the air (basically aerial ballet while defying gravity & common sense) TEDxVail Ringmaster since 2009: Our top talk has 3+ million views! Not to brag, but we've schooled some cool stuff. Pandemic productivity queen: Produced 28 online TEDx events during lockdown because relaxing while long hauling from COVID is a thing. My Idea Worth Spreading Ready for this? What if we created a massive Citizen's Solution Council where everyone – and I mean EVERYONE – gets to play climate collaboration coordinator? Local fixes become global game-changers through an AI matchmaking service that's basically nature's feedback loop but with better WiFi. Also, let's put teenagers in charge of climate conferences because they're the ones inheriting this beautiful mess & they have zero patience for corporate nonsense. Bonus wild idea: Climate refugee matching service – think Airbnb meets permanent residency, where countries bid for displaced humans based on skills and mutual compatibility. Revolutionary? Possibly. Crazy? Definitely, & laughing.

My TED Origin Story In 2009, someone mentioned TED was powerful. I thought, "Hold my kombucha," and brought TEDx to Homer, Alaska. Our teenagers immediately conquered the digital divide and won Ashoka's national competition because apparently small-town Alaskan kids are unstoppable. My 13-year-old McKenzy spread the gospel of youth-organized TEDx events across America and won a Jefferson Award for basically being too awesome for his own good. Now I run TEDxVail as an international idea laboratory where hundreds of volunteers discover their own "aha!" moments while serving up spreadable brilliance to the world.
