Bio

Olemo Gordon Brian (Uganda) is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, USA, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science as a Hesburgh-Yusko Scholar. His work lies at the intersection of economic development, governance, and youth empowerment across Africa. While at the African Leadership Academy (ALA), Olemo served as CEO of SAFCorp (Statistics, Auditing, and Financial Corporation), a student-run enterprise that audited all campus businesses and offered professional training in financial management. He also served as a Committee Chair during the 2020 African Leadership Academy Model African Union (ALAMAU), where he led deliberations simulating continental policy-making on critical African issues. He currently works as a Programs Associate at Future Africa, a platform that supports bold and visionary African leaders working to accelerate the continent’s transformation. In this role, he contributes to initiatives that strengthen governance innovation, public leadership, and policy reform. In 2019, he became the youngest fellow of Cohort 33 of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). Motivated by the need for deeper youth engagement in African politics, he founded “The 4th Generation Initiative”, a platform that equips young Africans with the ideological tools to critically engage with political leadership on the continent. Olemo was also honored to serve as the graduation speaker for ALA’s Class of 2019.
