I still remember the day I received the TED newsletter proposing TEDx licenses to individuals. I had already been considering getting my organization to share compelling video content with TED when I received that email. Without a second thought about how I'd actually do it (I am not an event organizer, by trade), I signed-up for the TEDxTampaBay license immediately and have been organizing TEDxTampaBay since 2009, hosting our first event in 2010. Since then, I've attended TEDActive and, with the help of an amazing team, expanded TEDxTampaBay each year to include more attendees and presenters from the community and around the world--each with the potential to change the world.
