The TED story
I have leveraged both TED and TEDx in my work. I have incorporated TED Talks into many of my presentations to college students, higher education leaders and government officials. As for TEDx, I have found it is a terrific vehicle to curate connections between people where the rubber hits the road: at the local, community level. The opportunity to intermingle folks from diverse backgrounds, experiences, ages and interests, and then seeding thoughtful "ideas worth spreading" between them in a public gathering is ripe for the times we live in.
