Bio
When I'm not curating TEDxUGA talks, I work as a Graduate Assistant in the University of Georgia's New Media Institute. I teach a course called NMIX 4200: New Media & TED, which focuses on presentation curation and event management. I'm also a first-year graduate student pursuing my master's degree in Emerging Media.
I'm passionate about
I'm passionate about Camp Kesem, a national nonprofit that provides a free summer camp to children impacted by their parent's cancer. I've spent the last five years volunteering with Kesem and experienced first-hand the joy and magic that happens when diverse communities come together because of a shared experience. I believe that true strength lies in the ability to share hardships, empathize, and connect with people of all backgrounds and life experiences.
The TED story
My journey with TED started three years ago as a student at the University of Georgia. On a whim, I signed up for an upper-division class called "New Media & TED" and spent the semester learning about presentation curation and event management. I've been hooked ever since! I now serve as curator for TEDxUGA, where I assist in presenter selection and curation, event planning and promotion, and post-event production.
