Bio
I am an Architect and Urbanist graduated at the University of São Paulo FAUUSP, a 4th dan black belt in Aikido art from the Aikikai Foundation of Japan, Master Trainer Practitioner in NLP from Synapsys and graduated in Creative Facilitation from PYE Global - Partners for Youth Empowerment.
I like to introduce myself as a social architect. Since 2010 I have been working with a geographer on a project called "RIOS & RUAS" (Streets & Streams). We use to promote several actions to develop a new awareness about the relevance of our urban rivers. Through lectures, exhibitions, events, expeditions and supporting other initiatives, Rios e Ruas works for a cultural transformation that leads the population to recognize, integrate and care for rivers and streams that were buried alive under streets and avenues of urban centers such as Sao Paulo.
I believe in a better relationship between nature and urban development. We often talk about the past, the present and the desirable future in our cities by bringing our rivers and the water element to the center of our consciousness. Taking care of our rivers understanding water as the center of life
As a practitioner, researcher and disseminator of the Aikido philosophy, I was responsible for DOJO HARMONIA in São Paulo between 1994 and 2020, I created the NGO Ação Harmonia Brasil focused on the emotional development of children and young people from vulnerable communities. My vision of Aikido as a metaphor for dealing with the challenges of the 21st century has inspired in the last 20 years more than 20,000 leaders in lectures, skills development journeys and corporate education programs in companies, universities and innovation schools
At a time when depression, anxiety and stress are real threats to life, I take care of having enough time to take care of my physical and mental health with some practices that make me feel good: walking and playing with our dog Simba, playing the guitar at the end of the day, drawing with friends from the Nudesenhos collective, cycling around the neighborhood, playing tennis and hanging out with my two grandchildren. I believe that learning something new helps keep the mind curious and alive. In 2022 I started to study the Italian language!
