My name is Elvisa (Fotini) Frrokaj. I am Psychologist-Psychotherapist (BSc, MSc, PhD C., SYLFF Fellow). Since 2016 I work at the Mobile Mental Health Unit of Child's and Adolescent's Center in Chios Island, sponsored by Ministry of Health and EU, seated in Chios Island. Within my job, related to community-clinical psychology, except for my psychotherapeutic role, I take part in organizing initiatives for mental health having positive impact on the community. Specifically, I have organized several events for school bullying. I have been extensively involved in local society and clubs and I am the President of the board member of the Psychology Association in Chios Island. Additionally, in 2017 I embarked on my dissertation, as a doctoral candidate (PhD) in Psychology at University of the Aegean, Rhodes, Greece. In March 2019 I also started to run my own business, working in private practice. Furthermore, I am a fellow of the Sylff (Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund) Association. Specifically, in 2012 I received Sylff fellowship, because I distinguished in the best two MA students of University of Athens and awarded for academic achievement and leadership skills. As a SYLFF fellow, I am eligible to undertake annually initiatives that have a positive impact on the society, thus, I intend to plan and take initiatives by applying for other support programs the Sylff fellowship offers (My Sylff fellow’s profile: https://www.sylff.org/fellows/elvisa-frrokaj/). Finally, as a former long-distance runner, championship has instilled values in me such as discipline and resilience. I am dedicated to my goals and never give up. The more difficult the goal the more challenging is for me.

For me an idea worth spreading is The Power of Will. My moto in life is "where there is a Will there is a Way". Despite the hardships a person can encounter, if he strongly wants something he will find a way to overcome and go forward chasing his goal. Obstacles are challenging, make us stronger and more resilient.

The incident that inspired me most to organize a TEDx event is the experience I had in 2018 and 2019, when I was invited by the organizing group of TEDxUniversityOfTheAegean in Chios Island to speak and set up a workshop about the themes “Norma” (2018) and “Breaking Point” (2019). This unique experience inspired me to organize a TEDx event that will be the first in Chios Island. Furthermore, I am fascinated by organizing workshops, making speeches and I believe in the power of public speaking by people who have qualities and are successful at their field in order to speak about ideas worth spreading.
