Bio

Ology Bio engineer adept at leading and supporting technical project-based teams with creativity & a winning attitude! I am a dedicated engineer committed to completing my work with creativity and a winning attitude. My experience as a Research & Development and Operations engineer at RTI Surgical has provided a solid foundation in the medical industry. I am often referred to as a connector. My strong suit is being a resourceful leader within my nurtured network of friends and professionals. I graduated in the Leadership Gainesville Class of 44. I earned my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Florida. I am also the first recipient of the Dean’s Certificate of Engineering Entrepreneurship. I am thrilled to continue my lifelong pursuit of learning through earning a Jack Welch Management Institute's Executive Master in Business Administration degree. I practice being a holistic engineer one that can communicate effectively through technical expertise and societal awareness. I value mentoring and being able to lead and support productive teams. I pride myself in my accomplishments and getting others to achieve their goals. I have nine years experience as an educator highlighted by starting a high school robotics team and organizing TEDxYouth event 2012. I am currently the licensee for TEDxGainesville and was the organizer for our debut event in Feb 2019. I am credited with co-founding the Small Satellite Design Club and was a research assistant with the Space Systems Group. Our graduate team was the first to design and build a small satellite nicknamed SwampSat, and to successfully launch it into orbit. I was involved in the National Science Foundation’s Industry & University Cooperative Research Center, Advanced Space Technologies Research and Engineering Center. I have numerous accomplishments and publications that have prepared me for my success in academia/industry.
