My journey with a TEDx-like environment started in Shanghai, with ideation, curiosity, passion and purpose as common denominators among a group of likeminded friends and contacts. Upon relocating home to Singapore, and as divine providence would have it, I met the inspiring team behind TEDxSingapore. It's been an exhilarating journey that's been filled with passion and purpose, so much so we pulled off two of our largest events to date, the last being "The Undiscovered Country" on the occasion of Singapore's 50th anniversary in 2015. Around 1,800 individuals were held spellbound over two days, by speakers such as the late Professor Hans Rosling and Lonely Planet's Tony Wheeler, both of whom had ties with Singapore. Through my work that revolves round strategic planning of luxury hospitality, arts, heritage, CSR and sustainability throughout The Fullerton Heritage precinct, I try to weave in the same sense of community building in internal and external outreach. I hope to engender a greater appreciation of our culture, heritage and provenance, for it is in taking pride of our own unique set of narratives that we are able to build upon stronger ties of collaboration. Meanwhile, the work at TEDxSingapore continues, in my role as Stewardship and Mentor Board co-chair. For passion, for people, for purpose!

It started at a meeting with the TEDxShanghai community, which subsequently sparked off a chain of friendship links from Shanghai to Palm Springs and finally, Singapore.
