I'm passionate about
Traveling. If I am not actually traveling, I am planning our next adventure. I believe that travel educates, opens minds, and stimulates.
Travelers cant be stupid because travel teaches you more about life and people than 12+ years of formal education can.
An idea worth spreading
As a former classroom teacher, I know that the current educational system is not setting students up for success. In fact, it limits the potential, passion, and aspirations of every generation. We need to change the system.

The TED story
A few years ago, I signed my partner up for a Ted program scholarship. The idea was to help people learn how to deliver speeches well.
I never did hear back from that opportunity... and honestly don't know if it was even available in Spanish (which my partner speaks).
So, I decided that with my skills as an educator and publisher, that I could organize our own event, as well as help my partner, and others, with their speeches.
I want to give the stage to people who have not had the opportunity before. So, public speaking skills or writing is not an issue. I will help with that if someone has an idea that they are passionate about.
Things you might not know
Baking. I love to bake all kinds of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, etc.
Growing up, we were dirt poor. But, there was always baking ingredients in the kitchen. I used to take out the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook and experiment.
Brownie pudding and carrot cake are my signature dishes.
