Bio

Arta Zeciri is an Entrepreneur and Business Strategist with specialization in Talent Acquisition and Organizational Culture. She has commenced an international venture named The True Talent, emphasizing on innovative organizational restructuring, training, consulting and recruiting. Her persistent, self-motivated and encouraging personality are a few characteristics she carries that help her focus to produce real change in the world. She started her education in Skopje, North Macedonia in Political Science, and then decided to further her studies in Los Angeles, CA, by switching her major to Business Administration, which she believed was her true passion. Arta started her career working for renown international organizations such as UNHCR, Amnesty International and Plan International, which allowed her to embrace her passion working for communities in need all over the world, and yet gain knowledge and experience on how to deal with conflict areas and what core issues exist that need long-term solutions. She later moved onto solidifying her career as an HR Manager working for over 5 years for organizations such as Promote and Robert Half International, gaining thorough knowledge and insight into the business world, which pushed her to refine her skills in business strategy, employee engagement, training, hiring and much more. Her accomplishments include managing a multi-million dollar cooperation and building an international development design team at a young age. Her international network has provided the opportunity to establish, mentor and train teams throughout Europe, Mexico and Colombia into the American market. In 2018, Arta left behind her career as an HR executive in order to pursue her own venture — The True Talent. Her goal through this venture is to internationally influence and set a new standard on how employees work for organizations. With the headquarters in Los Angeles, CA and satellite offices in Skopje, Macedonia, Arta brings her experience from the American market to her hometown by creating a rippling change in local organizations and businesses. Aside from the professional experience, Arta was highly active in her community as a board member of AHRP - Albanian Human Rights Project, with a mission to raise awareness and preserve memories of Albanian survivors of communist imprisonment and internment during the Cold War (1944-1991), making their testimonies available as primary sources for scholarly study, education and inspiration now and in the future. Ready to launch new initiatives and programs for the community in Skopje during this year, Arta carries an extreme passion to create a community which will birth the next generation of entrepreneurs, writers, artists, politicians, families that through their creative ideas will generate profitable businesses and multi-generational wealth.

I'm passionate about

I carry an extreme passion for refugees, especially the process of adaptation in a new land and community. As a first hand witness of the struggles of a refugee and my work with international organizations such as UNHCR, Amnesty International, and Plan International; it takes a lot of guidance, long hours of training, counseling and enormous amounts of resources to help refugees adapt in all areas of life. I aspire to create a sustainable system that can help introduce, guide and aid refugees/1st generation immigrants throughout each one of the processes, rather than having them go out on their own trying to figure out step by step and not have a long term plan of assimilation. As a big part of this cause, I yearn to be able to teach and provide support to refugees and immigrants of all ages, provide adequate resources to encourage them to become entrepreneurs by pursuing their creative ideas to generate business plans and profitable businesses.

The TED story

I was at my aunt’s terrace sitting and sipping on a coffee when I had shared with her that I want to quit my job and start my own company. She pointed out that I had a very successful career as an HR Executive, with a great salary, benefits, and shouldn't risk that opportunity to jump into something that most likely won't succeed. And I asked her: "Why do you think I won't succeed?". She said: "Because running a business is not for a woman, we should just stick to what we know and what we are good at." And at that moment, I realized that taking the risk is exactly what I am meant to do, as the still-existing old conservative and non-progressive culture remain present. To inspire women, children and young professionals in my community and other areas in the world that have been discouraged, put down and rejected for pursuing dreams, is my true calling.
