BJ Miller phrased is beautifully when talking about bringing intentionality and creativity to the experience of 'dying' and how the healthcare system was designed keeping disease in mind and not the patient. Reminded me of how the present-day education system was also designed keeping industrial chores in mind and not the human / the learner. The same may well be true for other industries also but more importantly, it stands true to life as our various identities interact with the day to day. The choices we make often end up choosing practicality / survival / routine over connection / joy / creativity. And pushing myself to do the latter as often as possible has defined my journey through life thus far. Jumping off of the bridge where they invented bungy jumping in NZ, writing a book that juxtaposed indo-pak history textbook narratives and having backpacked through 3 dozen countries on a Pakistani passport are some of the many experiences that I cherish looking back over the past decade or so. Looking forward to connecting and experiencing more through this initiative...
