My name is Deborah Galbo, I am a Cyber Security Manager and I have studied the social issues concerning the crime of the modern world such as online scams, cyberstalking, cyberbullying, child pornography and identity theft. I wrote some essay: 18 March 2014: certificate of competence in Criminal Analysis at the Italian Criminology Psychology Association with a final paper: "Stalking and violence against women"; 21 June 2014: certificate of competence in Violent Crimes Analysis at the Italian Criminology Psychology Association with final paper: "Homophobia: Short historical and etymological path". I have been always interested in the themes about human rights since my experience as an activist at Amnesty International in Palermo during the years of the high school. I was the Women Action Director for North America, in particular for topics about the conditions of women in American prisons. Moreover, I will never forget when in 1997 Leoluca Orlando, the Mayor of Palermo, gave the honorary citizenship to Joseph O 'Dell, sentenced to death and executed. On the occasion of the burial in Palermo, which is a gesture of great sensitivity and humanity, I had the opportunity to meet Sister Helen Prejean, which is the inspirer of the movie "Dead Man Walking", and I also wrote an article against the death penalty published by the local newspaper “Giornale di Sicilia”. I still remember the excitement I felt when I received a letter from Mr. Leoluca Orlando as reply to my article: I was pleased that even the mayor of the city had read my words and he gave me his support for the battle against death penalty. Nowadays, I’m still involved in my battle for human rights and I still wrote articles about this topic for the local newspapers. I also organize workshops in schools against bullying and all kind of discrimination because it is my passion and I think these issues should concern everyone.
