Bio

Jan Scheele - 29 years old - Maastricht, Netherlands Started my first company when I was 13 and also started working for Startpagina.nl. During high school and my studies at Maastricht University, I grew my company Caesus.nl and am currently working with parties who would like to accelerate online on a innovative way. We are taking care of all possible tools and guidance. We have launched over 180 national and international projects for a broad variety of clients; from hospitals, multinationals and governments to non-profits, SME’s and starters. Besides Caesus, I founded a company in which several tech startups are being build and launched. Furthermore I founded a company, advising and helping clients with regard to all elements within the organization of a successful and innovative event. This with over 5 years of experience, setting up these kind of events. Am furthermore co-founder of the ‘Genius Network‘, ZUIDonline.nl and am asked frequently as sparring partner in board rooms. In my free time, I’m actively connected with the TEDx brand since it’s start in 2009. Besides founder of TEDxMaastricht, TEDxSittardGeleen and TEDxEindhoven, I’m director of TEDxAmsterdam and am member of the organizing team of TEDxDefensie, TEDxPolitie, TEDxUnitedNations etc. Furthermore I’m board member of ZweitVeurLeid and member of the board at CDA Maastricht. I'm passionate about

Helping companies online in a very thoughtful way, with all tools availible / My wellfare foundations (it's not all about the money) / the TEDx events I'm organizing.

The TED story

Helping to organize a TEDx in Baghdad. When sitting on the plane, my last safety 'grip'; the seatbelt, even was loose. Thrilling to the last minute :-). In the end, after a week of having fun in Baghdad, the outcomes were just breathtaking. Where usually TEDx events are concerned with the content, the immense wave of replies showed that the attendees (mostly inhabitants of Baghdad & surroundings) also got back hope of a quick recovery and proud about their country, it's history, fellow inhabitants and culture. In Octobre 2012, a new edition is planned!
