Bio

Doctor, researcher and educator based in London. Passionate about exploring the roots of morality in the human brain. If empathy is hard-wired in us, how does that change how we think about moral responsibility and culpability? Can empathy be taught? And ultimately, if morality is rooted in biology, what does that say about the ultimate significance human evolution? Are we born to be good?

An idea worth spreading

Human beings are natural creatures. Not fallen angles but risen apes. We have an inbuilt moral sense, a potential for morality. This means that morality is one of the end-products of evolution. That changes the way we look at morality - and evolution.
