Bio

Education is the economic engine of any community. But perhaps more importantly, it is the innovation engine. A strong education creates a workforce ready to solve the problems of today, while anticipating solutions to the problems of the future. An impactful education inspires a community who not only seeks to solve problems, but who empathizes, collaborates, and listens to others in order to make the world better. As a leader, my goal is to develop these skills within students, teachers, industry partners and community leaders. I consistently work to create school cultures that authentically prepare students for the challenges and experiences of life. I know how to listen and respond to criticism and feedback, how to be transparent in decision making and stand behind decisions in the best interest of schools, and how to develop and grow a program based on qualitative and quantitative data. I know the power collaboration holds for the future by creating engaging, relevant educational experiences for all levels and perspectives of stakeholders. I am a leader who is always seeking growth, someone who uses my skills and qualities to create radical possibilities for the community, and inspires current and future generations to solve problems creatively. #STEM #STEAM

The TED story

I've loved TED since the beginning! I have been watching and sharing talks since TED came to be. In 2016 I had the chance to say something on a TEDx stage that I think resonated with many and then in 2019 I got the opportunity of a lifetime - go to TEDSummit and share another idea that could change our world. I am so grateful to TED for the chance to share ideas and be part of a global conversation that leads to action.
