I am the Executive Director of The Haven, a residential centre for personal and professional development on Gabriola Island in beautiful British Columbia. The Haven is a not for profit, federally registered educational charity and has been offering programs for thirty years.

The TED story
I had been an avid watcher and sharer of TED and TEDx videos. I looked into TED more closely when looking for ways to propose someone as a speaker. I had no idea that I could organize my own TEDx event, and as soon as I found out more about the process, knew that I had to do it. I'm proud of the fact that TEDxGabriolaIsland is the first TEDx on the gulf islands of British Columbia.
Things you might not know
Learning new stuff. Making music - playing the flute and singing. Also reading novels very quickly!
