About Kathy

Bio

Kathy Terry is a visionary entrepreneur, activist, and advocate for systemic change in philanthropy and capitalism. As the co-founder of P. Terry’s Burger Stand, Kathy helped revolutionize fast-casual dining by prioritizing fresh, high-quality ingredients, fair wages, and a deep commitment to community giving. Under she and her husband's leadership, P. Terry’s has grown to 35 locations while donating over $1.7 million to local nonprofits—demonstrating that business success and social impact can go hand in hand. Beyond business, Kathy is deeply committed to rethinking the way we give and invest in change. She believes philanthropy should be more than charity—it should be a catalyst for justice and sustainable solutions. She actively mentors and advises young activists and emerging leaders through the Nobel Women’s Initiative and the GLOW Foundation, working to expand access and opportunities for the next generation of changemakers. Kathy is on a mission to challenge traditional philanthropic models, push for more equitable systems, and create a future where both giving and capitalism foster true connection, dignity, and lasting impact. She lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband, Patrick, and their two daughters, Kate and Caroline.
