An idea worth spreading
Teaching a skill to an underpriviledged person is so uplifting and fulfilling for both the teacher and the student alike. We need to give a little love to get some love. I believe the best way to get out of any gloom or depression or boredom is to do some service for society. And that is best done by teaching a skill. It gives dignity and encouragement to the receiver. Being unloved, unwanted for, forgotten by everybody is a much greater poverty and hunger than that of the person who has nothing to eat- Mother Teresa. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0XCj73i57o

The TED story
A fellow intern at a political office signed me up as a speaker at a TEDx event in South Western India. I had no idea at that time(in 2010) how big TED was though my boss, the politician had spoken at TED India the year before!! I just prepared my talk well and after the video went up it received over 7500 views and I was hooked for life. I realized the power of its reach and how some amazing ideas can get delivered to so many people. I will always support the cause of TED and thus I also a Curator for TEDx now. I am proud to be a TED family member!!
