I am a marketing professional with 4 years experience working closely on brand management. At my current role at FIIB, I work closely with the higher management to plan and implement stakeholder engagement. Additionally, playing the role of managing and enhancing student engagement at FIIB, I aim to make a meaningful difference in student outcomes in higher education. I am a Masters in Business Education in the field of Marketing and I am a computer science graduate from Lovely Professional University, Punjab. My career commenced with me working with Makemytrip and then with Practo. Working with 2 new age startups helped me develop a ‘growth hacking’ mindset. In all my roles, I had to analyse consumer behavior and psychology behind making decisions to create the magic of branding, so when I got the opportunity to engage students in training and experiential opportunities, I could apply the ‘customer first’ rule to achieve high quality outcomes and engagement levels with them. At FIIB, I have been a core member during the ‘brand refresh’ project when the college revisited its mission and core values. As the brand custodian, it was my responsibility to ensure the values of the brand are conveyed and translated in the graduating students. I am a passionate reader and a writer. I read both fiction and non-fiction, fiction - to broaden my senses and awaken new senses of imagination and creativity, non-fiction, particularly on science and psychology - to understand the infinite possibilities that the human kind is discovering everyday.

I’m passionate about learning. If we look for experiences, they’re everywhere. We as humans are built to be learning machines, it starts before we take birth so why should it stop at any point in our life when we sit back and relax that I’ve learned enough? Exploring the new everyday teaches us a wide variety of skills. Like in the initial stages of my career, I learned the skill of selling and later in my career, I could use selling skills to write compelling pitches and articles. So, life wide continuous learning is what inspires me to wake up everyday.

You have to ask yourself if what you’re doing today is getting you closer to what you want to be tomorrow. This ensures that every decision you make, every action you take, and everything you’ll learn would be pointing you in the direction you want to take your life in. The trick is not go to sleep unless you take 5 minutes to think and evaluate about your day every day. This is valid for all big or short goals of life be it related to career, building meaningful relationships, or just to bring more happiness to your life. In my career, I found this extremely helpful and made me realise what kind of work inspires me and how should I build my skill set bit by bit to move towards my bigger goals.

Growing up, several TED talks shaped the way I think and work. Science and psychology both had its impact in molding the way I perceive success. I believe we can achieve anything if we put our mind and heart to it. My career has been a set of diverse experiences and I am quick to grasp everything I could learn from the people I meet, the places I've been, and the opportunities I get. I had the privilege of closely experience the magic of TED being a member of core organising team of the TEDx event organised at FIIB, I was incharge of managing stakeholder engagement during which I was fascinated by the live experiences and life-altering takeaways TED provides. I was thrilled to see that TED enables the continuous learning I seek and aim to impart in young managers. I decided then and there that I would like to host another TED event for the upcoming batch of students so that they get inspired and chalk down the right changes to attitude and learning early at their life at FIIB, of course it goes without saying that our community - the faculty, staff, and alumni would also benefit greatly from the unique and fresh perspectives shared by the speakers.

Learning and training go hand in hand. Few people know that I'm good at training. I've explored this angle to me when I conducted training workshops for CV writing, LinkedIn Profile Building, personality development, and the art of story telling. After attending these workshops, I've had several students come back to me taking more suggestions, this made me take up training roles whenever there's a fit between the training topic and my skills and interests
