Bio
James Andrews is a cultural futurist and entrepreneur shaping how we tell stories, build movements, and design the future of creative work. With roots in the music industry where he helped craft the global rise of artists like Lauryn Hill, Nas, Destiny’s Child and The Fugees. James has evolved into a sought-after strategist working at the intersection of culture, technology, and capital.
As the founder of Creator Mode Studios, James builds platforms and ecosystems that empower creators to own their value often leveraging tools like Web3, AI, and community governance. He’s led initiatives with Ripple/XRP, advised startups that have raised millions, and collaborated with high-net-worth individuals to shape purpose-driven portfolios that align with storytelling, impact, and equity.
James also explores the emerging role of AI in creative expression—most recently guiding projects like BBL Drizzy, an AI-generated viral hit, and advising on the evolving legal, ethical, and economic implications of AI-generated art, music, and narrative.
Whether DJing across the globe or advising the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, James is a connector of people and patterns, deeply focused on helping founders, artists, and investors design new systems that are not only profitable but meaningful.
James is a longtime TED attendee, best known for hosting a legendary off-campus dance party after the official closing events—his personal gift to the community. He also curates the “TED Cool Kids” WhatsApp group, a space that fosters connection, creativity, and conversation before, during, and well beyond the conference
