Bio

Brian Bowman has staked a reputation for flawlessly executing ambitious, comprehensive design projects. Most recently, the poetry inspired series of stereoscopic 3D shorts, Verses, and the 404 Identity film, an opening identity for touring global electronic arts festival 404. The 404 Identity incorporates information systems, vector video games and sustainable architecture, capturing the typical scope and holistic nature of his work. A recent collaboration with Crispin Porter + Bogusky for Cuervo Games, highlighted large iconic and sculptural elements functioning as way finding, branding and identity for the event as well as directing a broadcast package for online interactive viewership. Additional projects include an interactive Microsoft/Operation Smile event to launch Windows Live, in which he combined live generative content with traditional CG and projected it onto a 60-foot-high sphere on New York’s South Street Seaport. He also designed and directed the opening titles and animated graphic sequences for the feature film Love Etc. in limited release during the summer of 2011. Bowman has completed notable work for MTV, HBO and the Webby Awards. The time-lapse and live action film Meridian earned a 2009 selection for South by Southwest. Additionally, his films were official selections at onedotzero, Resfest, Bitfilm and 25 FPS. An in-demand speaker, Bowman has spoken at Syracuse University's School of Architecture, Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, SIGGRAPH, Luster in New York, and at F5. His work has been featured in Computer Arts, Motionographer and Stash. Prior to joining Nice Shoes in 2010, Bowman worked as a creative director at Digital Kitchen NY after spending a time as a designer at Tronic Studio.
