Ronan Gruenbaum

Ronan Gruenbaum is Dean of International Affairs & Program Development at Hult International Business School, responsible for partnerships and program innovation. Prior to this role Ronan spent three years as Global Director of Undergraduate Learning and Development responsible for developing and implementing the award-winning Bachelor of Business Administration program. Ronan joined Hult in 2011 as full-time professor of marketing technology on Hult's London postgraduate campus, before transitioning to the Associate Dean role there and then becoming Dean of the London undergraduate campus from 2016 to 2022. Prior to Hult, Ronan enjoyed a career specializing in e-commerce, digital marketing, social technologies, online learning and e-communications. Ronan is a published author and a seasoned speaker at international conferences.

Making a positive difference. The world is a difficult place for billions around the world, with wars, famine, preventable diseases, human rights abuses, climate change, environmental catastrophe and species extinction. I believe we all have a moral duty to try and do what we can to make a positive impact and leave the world in a better condition for our existence. One of the reasons I enjoy working in education is that we have an opportunity to improve the lives of our students, and vicacriously to then have them make a positive difference in their futures.

Apart from being a passive viewer of TED talks, my TED story began in 2013 when a student of mine on the Hult Masters in International Marketing program applied for and launched the first TEDxHultLondon event and wanted some advice and guidance. When taking the Dean role in the undergraduate campus in 2015, I sought out the license (which was being passed from pillar to post) to ensure the event was an annual celebration of inspiring thought leadership, run entirely by students.
