About Sarah
Bio
I'm a rising 4th year at California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. I major in Business Administration with a double concentration in Accounting and Information Systems, and will be graduating in June 2020.
I've been a part of the TEDxSanLuisObispo team since my 1st year of college. I started off as the Administrative Assistant of the Executive Director of Speakers, then became the Executive Director of Finance, and now I am the Lead Organizer.
Aside from TEDx I am also a member of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) -- I mainly help with their outreach core by attending events targeted for elementary, middle school, and high school students. Additionally, I am a student manager for our Cal Poly Women's Basketball Team -- attending all practices and games helping with statistics, filming, drills, and working with our athletic trainer. Lastly, I served as the Director of High School Partnerships for the Women in Business Association (WIB) -- attending high schools and hosting workshops of topics such as: Self Care and Time Management, Resume Development, Professionalism, and Leadership.
In the professional field, this summer I am working as an IT Audit intern at Electronic Arts (EA) -- assisting our Global Audit team in Operational, SOX, and IT SOX Audits. I am also working on a brand new project with our Worldwide Studios team. Last summer, I interned for Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems as a Business Intern for the Asset Management team.
I'm passionate about
Working for organizations and companies whose mission are bigger than ones self.
An idea worth spreading
Be the point guard of my own future, and read the defense taking what it gives me, so you can make the best decisions for myself and your teammates.
--
Be the leader of my own future. Everything happens for a reason, so take advantage of the opportunities life gives me. However when making decisions keep in mind how it effects not only yourself, but those around you because everything in life has a team aspect.
