I was born in Reus, studied biology in Barcelona (UAB) and came back to Reus to do my PhD and, still living here. During my PhD studies and then as a postdoc, I had the opportunity to work and live in Seattle, Boston and Umeä (North of Sweden). I love my work, that is why, even its high competitively, I prefer to stay doing research than moving to another field. I'm mother of one son and two daughters, they are for sure the most important think I've done in this world. A part from that I love cooking (it’s a way of relaxing) and hiking any kind of mountain. To define myself I can use something a close coworker said to me recently: - Elisabet, you suffer because you try to implement innovations when your surrounding people still don’t see the point.

Scientific research creates in your brain a way of thinking, acting and living, and I believe that part of this know-how and way of working and thinking could be transferred to other workplaces.
