Bio

Monique Woodard is an entrepreneur and marketing strategist who specializes in creating online experiences for consumers. At Brand Institute, she led brand name development projects for Avon, Starbucks, and Bayer. Since then, with more than 10 years of consumer tech experience, she has helped companies define marketing strategy, launch new products and features, and engage their customers on web, mobile, and social. Monique has deep insight into the future of technology and the social movements around them and is passionate about creating the next generation of consumer web and mobile products. Monique is especially interested in using technology to enhance the consumer experience and introducing innovation to gain a strategic advantage. Monique is one of the founders of Black Founders -- an organization dedicated to increasing the number of successful black entrepreneurs in technology. The group produces monthly networking and educational events in Silicon Valley and has also produced conferences in New York, Atlanta, and Austin (Q2 2013). In 2013, Monique joined the San Francisco Mayor's Office of Civic Innovation as a Mayor's Innovation Fellow where she is working on innovation projects around open data and civic engagement. Monique Woodard was named one of the "Black Women in Tech You Need to Follow on Twitter" by BlackEnterprise.com. She has been interviewed on topics around startups and diversity for ZDNet, KPOO radio, Madame Noire, TheRoot, and Essence Magazine.
