An idea worth spreading
Stop thinking about being a leader and start serving. Forget bossing people around – that's not leadership! Real leadership is all about helping and making others shine. It's about inspiring them, getting them fired up, and guiding them towards a shared goal.
Think about leaders like Muhammad Yunus and Mother Teresa. They weren't out for power or fame – they were all about helping others and making a difference. They showed us how serving others can the world.
We can all be leaders by focusing on how we can help. By using our talents and passions to tackle the problems we face together, we can make a real impact. It's not about climbing the ladder just because you can. It's not about the power because of the power. It's about using your position, no matter how big or small, to be the best version of yourself for others.
Real leadership comes serving others with a genuine desire to see them succeed. This kind of leadership creates strong bonds and changes lives. It helps us build a fairer world for everyone. Real leadership is humble, compassionate and empathetic.
So ditch the power trip and get out there to serve! The world needs more leaders like you.

The TED story
Back in 2011, during my master's program, TED Talks became a big part of my life when a teacher asked us to analyze one particular talk, "How to Start a Movement" by Derek Sivers. I was amazed on how a powerful message can be packed into just a few minutes. It made me realize that ideas don't have to be long to make a big impact.
I started watching more TED Talks. That's when an idea (a dream, maybe) started to form: I wanted to organize a TEDx event in my city. In 2019, that dream came true. Since then, we've been working hard to make each event better, covering a wider range of topics, all with the goal of making a positive difference. Because ideas are powerful—they have the ability to change the world.
