Bio
Karen’s arts career was launched at the Battersea Arts Centre, which sponsored her Theatre and Arts Post Graduate Diploma course at the London School of Speech and Drama. Positions have included venue based programming, contracting performing artists, and audience development. She has been instrumental in developing high profile large scale community Arts projects with building contractors and developers. Dance initiatives have included working with Graeae and CandoCo, and projects that have culminated in performances at Battersea Arts Centre and the London South Bank.
Karen has been affiliated to Banbury for over 25 years, and the local Arts scene, having the privilege of playing with Banbury’s former African sabar drumming group Sankofa, led by Senegalese born Modu Diouf and Rosie Colvin. Sankofa hosted the African Linx Festival at Cropredy, appeared at the Banbury Old Town Summer Party, and the Cornbury Festival. She has worked with Banbury’s Peppered Wit Productions as choreographer, and is often seen at the many theatre and musical theatre productions in Banbury.

The TED story
I was first drawn to TED through Sir Ken Robinson's TED Talk 'Do Schools Kill Creativity' and Munir Virani 'Why I love Vultures' and I haven't stopped since!
