Kathleen Stengel

Artist, Brainstormer, Designer, Foodie, Parent, World traveler

I was born and raised in San Diego, California and I love sunshine and the ocean. I now live in Cincinnati and Coronado, CA. I did my undergraduate work at UCLA with a degree in Biology/Environmental Science. After graduation i worked as a Non-invasive Vascular Tech in the newly emerging field of Ultrasound Diagnostics with Rex Ross M.D.. During that time, I also studied art and design at Santa Monica City College. In 1982, I went to Penn State graduate School of Management and earned an MBA in Finance. Following Business School, I moved to Cincinnati and worked in Marketing and Merchandising for Lens Crafters. I was active in the Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club and served as Vice President and President. In 1993, I moved with my husband and 2 children to Baltimore, Maryland. After 2 years in Baltimore, we moved to Prague, Czech Republic, where I volunteered at the International School and was active with the International Women's Club. After 2 years in Prague, we moved to Frankfurt, Germany where I participated in the same activities. Two years later, we moved to Geneva, Switzerland, where I started oil painting and enjoyed hiking in the Alps with the International Women's Club. Moving back to the US in 2000, I began volunteer work with the Free Store Food Bank in Cincinnati and with Impact 100. I also began Tutoring At-Risk children in reading and Math. I am now working with my husband with his consulting company, The Jim Stengel Company. I have an Art studio at the Pendleton Art Center in the historic Pendleton area of downtown Cincinnati.

Creating- I enjoy most forms of art and have worked in many, from oil painting to carving stone. I love finding the color when i mix paint or watching the form emerge from the limestone.
