I'm passionate about
I am a Physics Educator since 1993. I started my career as a lecturer in Bio-statistics and my career got shaped in The Lawrence School, Lovedale, India. It is a school of cultural heritage where I was a student more than a teacher. I had a short stint as a senior faculty in Physics in Indian School, Al Ghubra Muscat in Sultanate of Oman. I am the IB Diploma Coordinator in my present school, Chinmaya International Residential School which I joined in the year 2006.
I am a keen sports person. I have played Cricket for my college. I was master in-charge of Table Tennis in the Lawrence School, Lovedale. Now, I focus on Tennis which I enjoy thoroughly. My area of interest is Astrophysics. I am in-charge of the Astronomy Club at school.
I spend my leisure time either listening to classical music or doing carpentry work. I play Veena ( a string instrument for classical musics) and Mridangam (a percussion instrument). I have performed in a number of musical concerts.
As IB Coordintor, I organize service activities for the students of IB as a part of their CAS. It gives joy and satisfaction to serve the needy people. Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development - run by Chinmaya Mission guides us towards these service activities.
An idea worth spreading
I decided on the theme 'Act to Impact'. Act to Impact will bring forth many stories of people who have taken a step forward towards creating an influence on not just the society as a whole but touching the heart of every person who comes across them. In this vast world with such a huge population, there are a few prominent ones who stand out different from the crowd by dedicating their lives towards making a difference. It is the extra mile they run, the extra hours they stay up, the extra initiative they take to make things a little easier for the ones around them, that makes them stand out as the brightest stars in the sky.
I am inspired by the TEDx principles of making knowledge portable and ushering in an age of responsibility amongst youth. This is an attempt to convey new innovative ideas, ideas that are diverse in their own ways and have the force to fire the minds of the audience. As these speakers will be local just like the ideas, the audience will find it very appealing to get inspired by the people around them. Through this event I want to make my students aware of their power to make a change and how every action of theirs is counted towards making even the slightest of change in and around them.
As the famous baseball player, Jackie Robinson rightly said “Life is not important except than the impact it has on other lives.” I too strongly believe that life rightly lived is the one that has a positive impact on the people around. Through this event I would like to incorporate this value in my students.
Act to Impact is a pivotal cycle in which few eminent individuals make an impact through their actions and inspire another set of people. Those inspired individuals then go on to inspire more people and this goes on.

The TED story
Through the TEDx event I aim to create students who will have a greater vision after they complete their schooling. Our school, Chinmaya International Residential School is part of the Chinmaya organization which focuses on the vision, “Maximum happiness to maximum number of people for the maximum amount of time.” I intend to instill this vision in the hearts of students with the help of this program. TEDx is known to inspire people and make them better citizens of this globe. Using TEDx as our platform we target to create global leaders who work to develop happiness in others.
