I am a…
Educator/Teacher
I'm passionate about
Shining my light not only for me, but to help others on their journeys.
An idea worth spreading
To boast about my leadership skills, well isn’t this like a cover letter?
But since you asked, I guess I’ll answer:
I’m a trendsetter, my values and morals unfettered, but in the same vein smart enough to know when others can do it better
I’m proactive, not reactive; transformational with enough enthusiasm on most days to be sensational, hopefully--dare I say--revelational
I genuinely think all students are bright and we need to help their light shine not only for themselves but to guide others on their journey of discovery--so let us ignite and let them be touched by the sun…let them be sunlit.
Oh, and I genuinely believe the most dangerous phrase in the English language is “That’s the way we’ve always done it.”
Aware and ashamed of my implicit bias, I make sincere efforts to overcome it, let it dissolve, let it help me evolve
to cultivate a culture of empathic learners and teachers, bleacher creatures, school musical features, and STEAM reachers
The school is not just a school, it’s a community, the only opportunity for too many scholars to get a decent meal, the only immunity to ignorance and, for some, chains of steel.
Let’s be real: if we are going to innovate, we need to create global citizens, not just students either but teachers and admins too...who lead from the front, say “I got this” and mean it, say “We can do this” and believe it.
I’m a respectful dissenter, an educational disrupter, a classroom full of columns and rows interrupter, an ethics conductor
Why should anyone be led by me? Not because I’ll change the world, but because I’ll change the way a generation thinks about the world.
