Bio
I manage two innovation programmes under the umbrella of the Smart Innovation Hub at Keele University; the Keele Research and Innovation Support Programme, and the Mercia Centre for Innovation Leadership. Both support SMEs across the Stoke & Staffordshire area. Smart Innovation Hub is part funded by the European Union through its European Regional Development Fund.
I am an enthusiastic advocate of good Leadership, and prior to joining Keele Management School spent six years managing and delivering academic HE programmes on Leadership and Management across a number of clients in the public and private sectors. My specialist areas are leadership, teams, change, ethics, information / communications and marketing.
I am an experienced practitioner in local economic development, having delivered, developed or led programmes around Business Growth, Innovation, Inward Investment and Place Marketing, Tourism, Regeneration & Town Centres, European Funding, Start-Up and Enterprise, International Trade and Rural & Community Development.
I have worked in single and two-tier local government structures, and a regional development agency. I have substantial experience of creating, developing, managing and rescuing partnerships. I am a high-level communicator, with extensive experience of policy and strategy development.
I'm passionate about
My dogs, good leadership, and behaving ethically in a world pushing us to behave unethically.
