About Brandee
Bio
Brandee Barker is co-founder and partner at The Pramana Collective and former head of global communications at Facebook. She is an expert in communications and digital strategy for high-growth tech companies and social campaigns. Having spent more than 20 years in the tech industry, her passion is guiding founders and their teams through crucial stages including company and product narrative development, content and media strategy, launch planning and execution, and crisis/reputation management. Since Facebook, she has done projects with AirBnB, Groupon, Spotify, Square, Uber and Quora.
As part of The Pramana Collective, Brandee has led communications strategy for Dropbox's first developer conference, DBX, and helped launch mobile word processor Quip. Earlier in 2013, she helped introduce readers worldwide to Sheryl Sandberg's book "Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead" and LeanIn.org.
She is an investor in Wavii (acquired by Google), Trippy, Mightybell, Kitchit, Couple and Cowboy Ventures.
Since 2011, Brandee has been a Board Member of the Somaly Mam Foundation.

The TED story
I helped do the PR for the TED Prize in 2005 when Bono was the recipient. I then joined Facebook a year later and found myself too busy each year to return to the conference. 2012 marks my return!
