I work at the North Carolina School of Science and Math, a residential, public high school for students who are gifted and motivated in science and math. As Dean of Science, I coordinate the Biology, Chemistry, and Physics programs and teach two Biology courses (Research in Biology, Evolution). I am interested in creating opportunities for young people who are interested in science, introducing students to the scientific method, and nurturing a creative and industrious faculty.

The audience is what excites me most about TEDxNCSSM. The conference uses fabulous speakers as a way to bring interesting strangers together.
