From the very start Tricia's journey was shaped by the non-traditional. Born in Venezuela to an Australia father and American mother, unique would be a word that would come to characterise much of her life. Starting her education at tiny school, Tricia was one of nine students making up the entire student body of the primary school. She later left home for a small boarding school at age 11 before moving to Texas to complete her final semester of high school. Though getting a university education had been a goal of Tricia’s throughout high school, financial pressures pushed her to pursue working instead. Some 15 years later, the yearning to complete formal education had never gone away. Ultimately this lead her to reach for what seemed impossible – to complete an MBA having never completed an undergraduate degree. Today, Tricia is a full time MBA student at the prestigious HEC Paris. Together with three classmates, Tricia aims to organise a TEDx event at HEC Paris for students to be able to share their incredible ideas with a broader audience.

Bringing a group of strangers together to do amazing things. Finding what someone is good at and helping them thrive doing it.

Sitting in a classroom of amazingly talented and diverse people, I can't stop wishing I could hear more of what they have to say. I hope to make 2019 the year I convert my TED journey from endlessly enjoying the library of TED and TEDx talks to helping my classmates find a platform to share their amazing ideas.
