Hi! I’m a ballsy artist, activist, and adventurer! Not only do I literally have balls, but I’ve been pretty courageous, too. I was working at Cartoon Network on the Emmy Award winning show, Adventure Time, when I came out as intersex on MTV. This propelled me into the national spotlight as an intersex person, and in 2015 I shifted to full-time intersex activism work with interACT: Advocates for Intersex Youth. I’ve spoken all over the world about intersex issues, and the videos I’m featured in have accumulated over 15 million views! It’s bananas. Through vulnerability, storytelling, and way too many jokes about my balls, I strive to create a more welcoming world for people who don’t fit in a box. Currently I’m working on various creative projects including my debut Young Adult novel, a youtube show, and a painted portrait series that will exhibit in February, 2020. I was a TEDWomen 2018 Speaker and this year I’m the TEDWomen 2019 Speaker Ambassador! Come say hi!

Sex and gender are social constructs that don't actually exist. Biological sex is on a spectrum. Bodies are a lot more complex than we make them out to be! Labeling humans “male or “female” hurts more than it helps.
